Oracle’s MySQL Global Business Unit has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sales Manager to lead a team of Cloud sales representatives selling MySQL HeatWave (HW) Cloud Services to private and public sector organizations in North America. MySQL HeatWave (https://www.oracle.com/mysql/) is a fully managed database service, powered by the HeatWave in-memory query accelerator. It’s the only cloud service that combines transactions, real-time analytics across data warehouses and data lakes, and machine learning in one MySQL Database—without the complexity, latency, risks, and cost of ETL duplication.

This is a high-profile, high exposure opportunity for someone wanting to lead a team of Cloud Sellers marketing one of the fastest growing Cloud services in Oracle representing the most desired open-source Cloud database in the world.

Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years sales and 3+ years of sales management experience successfully selling software and/or public cloud analytics services to organizations ranging from SMBs through the Fortune 100.

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity:

  • Background selling analytics and database solutions, experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Google Big Query and/or Amazon Redshift preferred.

  • The primary focus is to manage and develop a team of MySQL Heatwave Cloud Sales Reps for a territory/region. Ability to lead sales team in all areas of the sales cycle.

  • Responsible for coaching, performance management, and career development of staff.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including motivating employees and implementing a results based culture.

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy that maximizes MySQL HeatWaves directly or via partners to small-and medium sized accounts.

  • Conducts sales forecasts, territory planning, demand generation, deal strategy development and trend analysis.

  • Participates as a team member in strategic and tactical planning for the division.

  • Develops and executes strategic plans utilizing resources from various marketing and sales functions to maximize revenue with frequent guidance from the area manager or director.

  • Participates in the recruiting process and provides hiring recommendations to senior management.

  • Handles escalations and participates directly in complex sales situations to negotiate and/or resolve disputes and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to negotiate price, other concessions and terms and conditions. Strong quantitative, analytical, and conflict resolution ability.

  • Hire and train new and existing sales representatives to position MySQL Heatwave.

  • Ability to develop and nurture working relationships with peers both within the GBU and across the broader Oracle Cloud Sales Organization( Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (“OCI)”

  • Ability to quickly develop, execute, and routinely modify a territory wide 30, 60, 90 day regional plan and prepare/deliver quarterly business reviews;

  • Ability to consolidate and prepare weekly sales forecasts using the appropriate inputs.

  • Ability to operate independently to anticipate, solve and/or provide recommendations to complex situations

  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) and present MySQL Cloud offerings to other teams within Oracle; especially within the broader Oracle Cloud Team;

  • Degree in BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, Economics preferred

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $141,800 to $232,300 per annum. May be eligible for equity and compensation deferral. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 45/55.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
